City Fish Brunch

On Saturday, my friends and I were in need a of a little girl time, and what better way to enjoy ourselves than over a nice brunch. Turns out though, brunch on a Saturday is hard to come by, especially if you’re also looking for some mimosas to accompany your meal. We ended up at City Fish Seafood Grill, off of Tampa Rd., in Oldsmar.

On Sundays, they have an unlimited brunch buffet, so I will definitely be back with a growling stomach to partake in that! Saturdays have a more limited menu, but plenty of delicious options to choose from both in the breakfast, brunch, and lunch categories.

We got there as they opened so it was not at all crowded, which we appreciated. The atmosphere is an open and fun tropical-themed space with a colorful indoor tiki bar.

Being there first thing also gave us first dibs on the bountiful “mimosa” bar. Mimosas, sangria, mojitos, and bloody marys were all at our disposal with plenty of fresh fruit and other toppings to mix in to really make the drink your own.

I’ve been in the mood for biscuits for awhile, so I ended up ordering the Country Style Benedict. Served on buttermilk biscuits with breakfast sausage, bacon, and poached egg topped with sausage gravy. The biscuit was nice and flaky and held up to the moisture of the gravy and egg yolk. The gravy was not too heavy, and the creaminess of that paired with the crispness of the bacon and sausage with the fluffy biscuit was a bite of perfection. I ordered my meal with grits as well which were cheesy and delicious with a bit of a spicy kick.

I could come back here time and time again and always have something new I’d want to try. I recommend coming here for any meal, but their brunch was definitely something special!

Until next time!
